These terms are written in plain English for clarity and are not a substitute for legal advice.
Summary
Flows is a small iOS app that records the time you spend in flows you set up. By installing or using Flows, or by using flowsapp.io, you agree to these terms. You get a personal licence to use the app on your Apple devices. Don't misuse it, don't try to break it, and don't use it to do anything illegal. Your data stays with you. We provide Flows as-is and our liability is limited to what the law allows.
1. The agreement
These terms are a binding agreement between you and Flows (Flows, flowsapp.io, "we", "us"). They cover your use of the Flows iOS application and the flowsapp.io website. By downloading, installing, or using Flows, or by accessing the website, you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Flows.
If you downloaded Flows from Apple's App Store, your use is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement. Where these terms conflict with Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA applies to your use of the app on Apple devices.
2. Your licence to use Flows
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Flows on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms and Apple's App Store terms.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of Flows.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where the law expressly permits it.
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the app.
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
Flows, the Flows name, the icon, and the website content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the European Economic Area) to use Flows. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you confirm that a parent or guardian has read these terms and agrees to them on your behalf.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
Flows is free to use with no purchase: Drifting, one flowing flow, and one resting flow, both of which you can rename. Flows+ is an optional in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited flows, the guided Describe Your Day setup, starter flow sets, full history, and day summaries. All purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store using In-App Purchase. We don't see or store your payment details.
Flows+ plans
There are three ways to buy Flows+. All three unlock the same Flows+ features.
Prices shown are reference prices in GBP. Apple sets the price in your local currency and storefront, so what you pay may differ. The current price for your region is shown in the App Store before you confirm the purchase.
None of the plans are available through Family Sharing. Each Apple ID needs its own purchase.
Auto-renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the standard price of the plan.
- You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your iOS Settings: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- If you start the 7-day Flows+ free trial on the annual plan and don't cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it converts to a paid Flows+ Annual subscription at the price shown and renews automatically each year until cancelled. You can cancel any time in your iOS Settings, and if you cancel during the trial you won't be charged; your free flows remain available either way. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a paid subscription before the trial ends, where applicable.
Switching plans
You can switch between Flows+ Monthly and Annual at any time. Apple handles the upgrade, downgrade, or crossgrade and applies any credit or proration according to its rules. Buying Flows+ Lifetime while you hold an active subscription does not automatically refund or cancel the subscription; cancel the subscription separately in your Apple ID settings if you no longer want it to renew.
Refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases, including Flows+ subscriptions and the Flows+ Lifetime purchase, are handled by Apple, not by us. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are unable to issue refunds directly.
Restoring purchases
If you reinstall Flows, change devices, or sign in with a different Apple ID, tap Restore purchases on the paywall to re-link any active subscription or your Lifetime purchase.
5. Acceptable use
When you use Flows, you agree not to:
- Use Flows for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app, our systems, or any other user's data.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the app or website.
- Use automated tools (scrapers, bots) to access the website in a way that breaches its terms or harms its operation.
- Use Flows or its branding to impersonate us or to mislead others.
6. Your data and content
The data you enter into Flows, your flow names, configurations, and time entries, belongs to you. Flows stores this data on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, syncs it through your own iCloud account. We have no server of our own and we do not have access to your data. See our Privacy policy for the full picture.
You are responsible for backing up anything important. Although iCloud sync provides redundancy, we are not responsible for loss of data that results from device failure, iCloud issues, your own actions, or factors outside our control.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Flows working well, but we don't guarantee that the app or website will be available without interruption, error-free, or compatible with every device and iOS version. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, including features you have come to rely on. Where a change materially reduces functionality you have paid for, we'll do our best to give you notice and, where appropriate, a refund through Apple.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Flows is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Flows will meet your requirements or that any defects will be corrected.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 or equivalent laws in your country.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of Flows.
Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to Flows is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us for Flows in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £20.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination
You can stop using Flows and delete the app at any time. Your licence to use Flows ends automatically if you breach these terms. We may also suspend or end your access to Flows if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms or are using the app in a way that could harm us, other users, or third parties. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 6, 8, 9, and 14) will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top and, where the changes are significant, notify you through the app or by posting a notice on flowsapp.io. Continuing to use Flows after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
12. Apple-specific terms
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Flows or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Flows. If Flows fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to Flows, including product liability claims, claims that Flows fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
